I have been a voracious reader from the time when my books were almost entirely filled with pictures. As I grew older, that obsession evolved into a desire to help craft stories that stay with readers long after the book is closed. I firmly believe that every story has the potential to captivate readers.

My editing style is focused on collaboration. I aim to make your writing the best that it can be while maintaining your voice and vision throughout. You have complete control over which edits to accept; my job is to offer you support and guidance throughout the process.

After working as an editor for a small publishing company in Texas, I've gained vital experience and begun working primarily independently. My passion for this industry and careful attention to detail will help transform your manuscript into the story you’ve been envisioning.

  • An evaluation is a great way to get initial feedback on your manuscript and determine your next steps. I will reach out to you with my detailed assessment of potential highlights and concerns. This service can be utilized at any stage of the manuscript.

    My rate for manuscript evaluation is $0.002 per word.

  • The most collaborative stage of the editing process and my personal specialty. I offer an overall assessment of the manuscript, as well as breakdowns for each chapter. This edit tracks plot, character development, structure, and overall flow. This process is meant to ensure that your manuscript will connect with your intended audience and overall vision. Notes will also be shown as in-line comments throughout the manuscript.

    My rate for developmental editing is $0.006 per word.

  • A line edit focuses primarily on the clarity and flow of your manuscript. This includes adjusting phrasing and improving word choice while maintaining your voice as an author. I also assess the pacing, making sure that the manuscript is engaging and impactful. Edits will be shown as in-line comments and a document with overall feedback.

    My rate for line editing is $0.005 per word.

  • In a copy edit, I meticulously comb through the details of your manuscript to ensure consistency and quality. This process involves checking the general story structure for anything unclear as well as smaller inconsistencies in spelling or character descriptions. While grammar will be checked it is not the focus of this style of editing. Most edits will be shown as in-line comments. Additionally, a summation of the edits will be sent over along with a general guide of the characters, plot, worldbuilding, etc.

    My rate for copy editing is $0.004 per word.

  • If you are looking for an edit to maximize the flow of your manuscript and track any possible inconsistencies, I highly recommend this combination. The edits will primarily be done as in-line comments. A summation of the edits and general feedback will be sent over along with my general guide of plot, timeline, characters, etc.

    My rate for this combination is $0.007 per word.

  • A proofread is the final edit of the manuscript. This is meant to catch any inconsistencies or grammatical errors. This step ensures a polished finished product that’s ready for publication. Edits will be received as in-line suggestions.

    My rate for proofreading is $0.003 per word.

  • I recently got my notary certificate, and I am happy to travel to any location in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina. If you are seeking notary services, please make sure to include a couple preferred dates and times. I am happy to work around your schedule.
